Finding & Creating the Balance by Nejia Bejaoui

For me, life is about finding the right balance. There is no quick fix, there is only one way and here's how:

How do we go about creating balance? We find our very OWN balance wheel. In no particular order here is an example of mine.

• Good Nutrition & Exercise

• Relationships: Family, Friends, Community

• Work, Financial & Career

• Intellectual Stimulation

• Sense Of Purpose & Spirituality

• Creativity & Play - Work Hard, Play Hard.

If you're good Monday through Friday then come the weekend allow yourself that cheat meal.  It's a cheat meal NOT a cheat day. Remember it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. Get past day 21 and it becomes your lifestyle! So you just need to be AWARE and make smart conscious decisions.

How do we go about our fitness goals? We use the S.M.A.R.T System.

Specific Fitness Goal - Your goal should be clear and easy to understand. ... , this could be as simple as wanting to do 3 pull-ups.

Measure Fitness Level - A goal to “lose weight” is not enough! Here's an example, if you want to run a mile, you might want to measure how far you've run each day.

Attainable - Before you can add a number, you have to know how high or low you want to go?! Slow and steady wins the race. Take it day by day.

Realistic - Make sure that your goals are realistic and you can physically attain them. Setting short time goals is the best way to go!

Time Specific - Your goal should include some sort of time frame. This allows you to chart your progress and meet your goals.

And I'll leave you on this note ..... Remember that good health isn't measured on a scale, or by the amount of weight you can lift. Health is about balance. Step, eat, sleep and live in balance today.
