5 of the Best Gyms in Dublin to give you that Elusive Beach Body
One of the best things about the recession was that gyms had to reduce their prices and rethink their pricing structure. Gone are the days of paying ridiculous joining fees and having to sign up for a minimum of 12 months. Now we have gyms where you can join for just a month, 3 months or even just pay as you go. Some gyms even give you a reduced price if you pay a year up front. Joining a gym is cheaper than ever now so that “Oh I would love to join the gym but it’s too expensive” is just not going to cut it anymore. Most gyms will even give you a free pass as well to check out their gym so no excuses really.Below are 5 of my favourite gyms in Dublin at the moment.
1. Raw
This is my favourite gym in Ireland. I joined them when they first opened up in Portobello. They have just recently opened up another gym in Sandyford. The atmosphere and equipment here is second to none. Motivational quotes on the walls, friendly and knowledgeable staff and people around you training hard always ensure you have a great workout. The downlighting in the changing rooms is the downlighting of the gods.

2. FlyeFit
One of Irelands first and best low cost gym. They are open 24 hours, have locations all over Dublin and they are constantly acquiring new premises. Not all of the gyms have the same equipment and it can get very busy at peak times but this is a small price to pay for such good value. For an extra €3 a month you can get a roaming membership which gives you access to all the different FlyeFit gyms. If you haven’t taken a selfie in the FlyeFit changing rooms then have you really done a workout?
Yearly Cost: €259(€299 for access to all gyms)
Monthly Cost: €29(€32 for access to all gyms)
Joining Fee: €25

3. Ben Dunne Gym
This is another low cost gym with locations mainly on the Northside. The gym in Terenure has a sauna, steam room and swimming pool so for €29 a month that represents excellent value. They also do a 12 month deal for €525 for 3 people. Grab two friends, train hard together and then kick back after in the jacuzzi with an impromptu flexing session.
Yearly Cost: €185-€245 depending on which gym you join
Monthly Cost: €18.95-€29 depending on which gym you join
