5 MINUTES WITH...ALEX PLAMADEALA @ALEXPFIT

 

  1. What is your current occupation?

    I'm a student in Year 2 of Commerce in UCD but I work part time in a restaurant as well as teach Taekwon-do & Kickboxing.

  2. How many days a week do you train?

    I generally lift 4-5 days per week as well as train in Taekwon-do & kickboxing 4-5 times per week as well so about 8-10 times per week in total.

  3. What’s your favourite exercise?(Squats, HIIT, Bench Press, Jogging etc.) 

    Favourite exercise hands down is the squat - barbell back squat to be exact.

  4. Which gym habit that other people do annoys you the most? 

    I absolutely HATE when people don't put their weights back. Especially when they've loaded up a bar with loads of plates for deadlifts. It annoys me that much that I regularly point it out to people & ask them can they put their weights back.

  5. What has been your worst gym fail? 

    Ripped my shorts squatting a few times lol.

  6. What’s your favourite cheat meal? 

    If I was to go all out fat city kind of meal, I'd hit up The Counter Burger for a 1lb burger, sweet potato fries & a milkshake.

  7. What’s your favourite post workout meal? 

    Burritos for sure - Boojum to be exact.

  8. What’s the best advice you have ever been given?  

    "Kick him in the head, he won't like that" - my kickboxing coach before stepping out to fight in a competition. It was good advice because I did it & it worked. But in all seriousness, I don't think I've ever been given a piece of advice that has left an impression on me.

  9. Who has been the most inspiring person in your life? 

    My parents for sure - while they don't have crazy academic degrees or extremely successful careers they are unquestionably the hardest working people I know & that is inspiring to me.

  10. Who is your celebrity or fitspo crush? 

    Nikki B for life.

  11. What supplements do you take? 

    I don't really use any supplements - if I do it's generally just whey protein & maybe BCAAs every so often.

  12. What’s your favourite protein bar? 

    Fulfil Peanut Butter Caramel for sure.

  13. What’s in your gym bag? 

    Too much stuff if I'm honest - Olympic shoes, flat soled deadlift shoes, wrist wraps, lifting straps, chalk, a lifting belt & some deodorant.

  14. What’s your biggest regret? 

    That's an intense question - to be honest, I don't really have any regrets in life. I'm a firm believer in that "everything happens for a reason". So all of the events in my past made me who I am today & that I definitely do not regret.
